Margarita Occasion:
Food friendly, to enjoy with a meal

There are couple approaches to make cocktails food-friendly. Here’s a BBQ-Smoked Margarita that compliments the food being served, especially if it’s roasted, seared or BBQ’ed — anything with bold flavor.

The flavors of smoke and BBQ savoriness make the classic, citrusy ingredients of this Margarita shine in the summer sun.

BBQ Smoked Margarita

INGREDIENTS

1.5 oz Patrón Reposado
.5 oz Citrónge Orange Liqueur
.5 oz Lime juice
.5 oz Agave syrup
3 drops Liquid smoke
+ 1:1 BBQ rub & salt rim

METHOD

In a shaker tin with ice, add all ingredients and shake to chill.
Strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass.
Garnish with a lime wheel and BBQ rub & salt rim.

Margarita Occasion:
Winding down after a long day

A light & refreshing Margarita that puts a refreshing twist on the classic with cucumber and coconut water.

The Cucumber Coconut Margarita is one of my favorite Margaritas recipes for enjoying on a patio over lunch or brunch. I love the hydration and lightness that the coconut water brings to the drink, and it pairs perfectly with the gentle herbaceous notes of the cucumber.

The best thing about enjoying a coconut drink is having the sun shining and the breeze blowing, so I suggest enjoying this Margarita perhaps with a delicious brunch, or spending some time outside on a beautiful afternoon. Cucumber and coconut together just makes any day feel like a spa day with friends.

INGREDIENTS

1.5 oz Patrón Silver
2 oz Coconut water
.5 oz Fresh lime juice
.5 oz Simple syrup
7 Thin slices of cucumber, 3 for garnish

METHOD

Combine all ingredients (including 4 of the cucumber slices) in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously with ice to chill.

Strain onto fresh ice in a highball glass.
Garnish with remaining 3 cucumbers.

Margarita Occasion:
Winding down after a long day

After a long workday the last thing I want to do is make things any more complicated.

For me, the simple Azalea Margarita ticks the boxes of simple and delicious. It’s also easy to use the batch guide on Cocktail Lab and multiply out the recipe and make this by the pitcher if you’re having some friends join you.

A floral twist on the Margarita that’s light, refreshing and sweet enough to be the centerpiece of any cocktail hour.

INGREDIENTS

1.5 oz Patrón Silver
.5 oz Patrón Citrónge Orange
1 oz Pineapple juice
.5 oz Lime juice
.5 oz Grenadine

METHOD

Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice to chill.
Strain into a rocks glass
