The following year, I joined the pre-opening team of Fairmont Austin as Beverage Manager and was promoted to Beverage Director in 2019 where I was responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the hotel’s beverage program.

What are you excited about?

I get excited to learn about anything new, especially when it comes to beverages.

Why Patrón?

After learning about the approach that Patrón takes toward crafting tequila, I was immediately impressed. There are so many facets to their ethos that garnered my respect. Every aspect of Patrón has a story that involves intent.

Nina Singer // Miami, FL

What’s your background?
I have been in the industry in some way since I was 14. Professionally, I originally came from the sports industry, specifically events for the NFL and NHL. Then I wanted to get back into the business so I became the event manager for Bacardi. During the pandemic, I started bartending again and doing all the batching, prepping and some cocktail strategies for a members-only club and hotel. I helped with some social media influencing for a whiskey brand, I started working part time as a brand ambassador for a mezcal brand, and well… now here I am!

What are you excited about?
I am most excited about the education portion, and letting others know how great the spirit is and getting to help share that information. I am excited to be on the other side of the bar again and find ways Patrón can creatively help them reach their goals and visions. I am also excited to be sipping on Patrón in general, let’s be honest.

Why Patrón?
Patrón IS the innovator of premium tequila. Not only that, it stays true to it’s sustainability and methods no matter how much is produced. And the taste speaks for itself. Ever since Antonio mentioned vegetal notes, I can’t get over how much I love that aspect of Silver. It really stands out in a delicious way.

Any hobbies?
Anything involving the outdoors. I love to travel places where I can do fun outdoor things like hike, skydive, scuba etc. I take my dog to most of these nomadic places with me. I also am obsessed with making infused spirits. My most recent favorite was a vanilla bean coffee tequila infusion.

Any obsessions?
I have a few obsessions they include tiki drinks, live music, and taking surf photography. I love watching extreme sports. I am also a cookie connoisseur. Tell me your favorite flavor cookie and we will be pals.

Favorite city other than your own?
In the US: Santa Monica, CA.
In the world: Uluwatu, Bali, Indonesia

Favorite nightcap drink?
I love a good Amaro following my Tequila Patrón.

What’s your pump up song?
Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen

Tacos or burritos?
Tacos, I make homemade cheesy gordita crunches that are fire!

How do you get the party started?
Mainly good music mixed with a shot or two to warm up the masses. Then everyone loves a good party game to get to know one another.

TJ Vong // Denver, CO

What’s your background?

I’m a creative mind well versed in cocktail and brand development. I originated in Culinary Arts but quickly noticed it wasn’t what I was searching for. I eventually discovered that I could use my passion for food, flavor, and presentation towards cocktails. Growing up in a family owned restaurant I have over fifteen years experience managing and working in restaurants. I’ve been active in the Colorado restaurant industry for the last eight years. For the last three-and-a-half years before COVID I managed and ran the program at Mizu Izakaya, a program dedicated to having the largest Japanese Whisky and Sake selection in Denver.

Most notably, I was classified as top 20 in the world by the Patrón Perfectionists Global Competition in 2019. I have also successfully competed other global cocktail competitions with my unique style and creative presentation. While at Mizu Izakaya, I also assisted in the launch of Santa Teresa 1796 in the Colorado market as their Brand Ambassador creating brand content and growth through on-premise education, events, and marketing.

What are you excited about?

Connecting with the industry again! Due to COVID I jumped into landscaping, which was quite refreshing to step away from the industry for awhile. I’m excited to meet all the new faces and reconnect with the community after being away for so long, I also get to share a brand I’m passionate about.

Why Patrón?

Out of all the brands that I’ve worked with, competed with, or collaborated with, Patrón is the brand that I’ve not only connected with the most but I’ve also grown the most with. After competing in Patrón Perfectionists in 2018 I quickly realized I had a lot more to learn. Even competing at my best I wouldn’t be able to compare to the final five. Instead I connected with everyone creating global relationships built on growth, friendship, and knowledge. My presentation style has changed dramatically, my storytelling is more fluid, and my cocktail concepts are more interactive. All of this has lead me to being more successful in competitions and my career. We both strive for perfection through passion, craftsmanship, and quality. The easiest way to answer this is they are a home away from home, they are family.

Any hobbies?

Anything outdoors! Typically you can find me mountain biking, paddle boarding, snowboarding, camping, or dancing (with and without fire).

Any obsessions?

Hats! I wear hats more often that not. It’s so bad that most people have no idea what my hair looks like.

Favorite nightcap drink?

Roland Price // Nashville, TN

What’s your background?

I’m from Columbus, Ohio originally and grew up around music. I moved to Nashville in 2005 to pursue playing and recording. I played in rock bands and wrote with people around town. Not long after I found myself in the bar industry as I continued to play. Eventually I worked my way up to managing bar programs and diving deep into the world of craft cocktails. Most recently I had been managing a bar just outside Nashville where we had an extensive craft cocktail menu program as well an integrated barrel program from private selections we made for our spots.

What are you excited about?

I’m excited about my ongoing learning in the tequila world! I’m stoked to be working in an industry I love so dearly, all while getting to form lasting bonds and help others learn and get excited about what they are doing.

Why Patrón?

This is a fairly easy answer for me. A few years back I had the pleasure of going down to the Hacienda to do a barrel select for our company. While on that trip, I learned and gained so much more than I could have imagined. The people and culture surrounding Patrón embraced me and sent me back home with a knowledge and love for this brand I didn’t quite have before going down. The why for me, is because I want everyone to know just what kind of people make this product and how even though they are a major brand their level of quality, passion, and commitment to what they do is unmatched by anything I had ever seen. It truly is a family.

Any hobbies?

I love music, and being that I played for so long and still do it has now become my hobby. I play guitar, bass, and a little keys. I enjoy making and creating music and have a deep love for making a drink and sitting in my home studio writing and playing as much as I get the chance.

Any obsessions?

Obsessions are once again music. I’m obsessed with going to as many shows as I can get to. Pretty much everything The Black Crowes, and obsessed might be an understatement as I could listen to them practically non stop.

Favorite city other than your own?

This is a tough one, but I’d have to say Boston. I absolutely love that town and the history surrounding it.

Favorite nightcap drink?

Patrón Añejo old fashioned, however I do enjoy a dressed up Mexican lager with a cayenne rim and hot sauce!

What’s your pump up song?

Still of the Night by Whitesnake

Tacos or burritos?

Tacos for sure but they have to be flour tortillas.

How do you get the party started?

Tequila for sure, and some Whitesnake! Once those are in the bag the good times are sure to flow.

Carissa Kaufman // L.A.

What’s your background?

I’m a Los Angeles native with nearly fifteen years of hospitality experience. I enjoy staying active, traveling, and immersing myself in various cultures!

What are you excited about?

Being an integral part of the education and growth of Patrón throughout Los Angeles.

Why Patrón?

Patrón is one of the largest and most well-known brands throughout the world. Our continued success is due to the hard work, care, and dedication from the top down. As a lover of agave, it was important to work for a brand that produces a quality product and does it the right way.

Any hobbies?

I regularly practice Muay Thai, I love photography, and I enjoy spending as much time in nature as possible — anything to keep active and experience everything that life has to offer.

Any obsessions?

Memes and videos — I spend way too much time on Instagram and TikTok (mostly watching cat and/or raccoon content), as I’m a child at heart.

Favorite city other than your own?

That’s a tough call between CDMX and New York. Both cities are absolutely incredible in completely different ways. If I didn’t live in Los Angeles, I would live in one of those two cities.

Favorite nightcap drink?

A neat pour of Piedra would be the best nightcap. However, a beautifully aged expression served neat, or over a large cube, is perfect for me.

What’s your pump up song?

Don’t Leave Me This Way by Thelma Houston. That bass riff is just too good.

Tacos or burritos?

Tacos, more options for quantity and variety. Ya girl eats a lot.

How do you get the party started?

Shots and a great playlist starts every party.

Michael Lopez // San Diego

What’s your background?

Bartender first and forever. I have been bartending for 10 years now, consulting and opening cocktail bars as a consultant for 5 years, and have been part of many industry trainings from USBG and private brands.

What are you excited about?

Being a part of an amazing cocktail brand who has really paved the way for the tequila category.

Why Patrón?

Patron is the true original culture creator for tequila. Its uniqueness in multi- cultural branding has allowed it to expand worldwide, sharing tequila far and wide.

Any hobbies?

I love taking my dog to see new places.

Any obsessions?

The Eastern sierras. I love the lakes, hiking trails, seasons, and the history of national parks.

Favorite city other than your own?

Seattle, Washington

Favorite nightcap drink?

Ranch water and an Amaro
